  The Chicago Technology Park – BiTmaP Program in conjunction with DePaul University/ School of Computer Science -Telecommunications and Information Systems, Northwestern University/ Biomedical Informatics Center (NUBIC) - Center for Genetic Medicine (CGM) - Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center (RHLCC) - Galter Health Sciences Library and The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) will host the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) for training sessions on Thursday, February 7 and Friday, February 8, 2008.

The NCBI training sessions are focused mini-courses in bioinformatics for researchers, teachers, and college students. Each mini-course is 2.5 hours in length with the first 1.5 hour devoted to an overview that is followed by a 1.0 hour hands-on session. These mini-courses are being offered free of charge and everyone is welcome to participate.

NCBI instructors will provide the mini-courses, “Bioinformatics Quick Start” and “GenBank Quick Start”. These sessions will take place on the DePaul University Campus, Lewis Center, Rm 1308

Northwestern University, 303 E. Chicago Ave. Chicago, IL 60611

NCBI instructors will provide the mini-courses, “MapViewer Quick Start” and “Microbial Genomes Quick Start”. These sessions will take place at Northwestern University in the Galter Health Sciences Library.
