Area firm's pneumonia treatment passes test

A new antibiotic that Advanced Life Sciences Holdings Inc. hopes to bring to market was shown to be safe and effective in treating pneumonia, the company will report Thursday. The antibiotic, cethromycin, also has shown in test tube experiments that it can fight MRSA, the so-called superbug staph infection that has caused worries because of its drug resistance. » Click here to read more...
