2008 Midwest Venture Summit Company Presenters

The 2008 Midwest Venture Summit will have 2 tracks for growing companies.   On March 17th Seed and Early Stage Companies seeking Angel or very early VC investment will present.   On March 18th, more mature companies that have already received angel funding will present.   The Geras Grant winner will be announced by Bob Geras during a morning breakfast keynote on March 18th. The fee for submission is $175 and the deadline is January 31, 2008. 

The Midwest Venture Summit is the premier venture capital event for entrepreneurs and investors in the 13 state “Greater Midwest” area and draws attendees from IA, IL, IN, KY, MI, MN, MO, NE, ND, OH, Western PA, SD and WI.  Prior year MVS presenting companies have received over $222 million in VC funding to date.  MVS Organizers include: AeANET, Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center, Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization, Illinois I.T. Association, Illinois Business & Investor Forum, Illinois Venture Capital Association, KPMG and the Wisconsin Angel Network.

During the 2008 Midwest Venture Summit, Chicago March 17th & 18th, 2008, entrepreneurs can expect to meet:

Companies that are seeking equity funding in 3 tracks:

  1. Series A +Track – companies have been rigorously selected by our panel of VC and coached by experienced entrepreneurs, professionals from the most impressive firms serving growth businesses and VCs.
  2. Seed or Angel Track –companies that have been vetted by local Angel groups. One of these companies will be awarded the $70,000 Bob Geras Grant to accelerate its growth
  3. Business Schools’ Plan Competition- will showcase the winners of 10 Illinois University Business Schools’ Plan Competitions.  Each plan will be evaluated by a panel of experienced Angel investors and the best plan will be selected.  The winner will receive a $50,000 award from Illinois’ Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) to establish the business in Illinois!

Submit your business plan today at www.MidwestVentureSummit.com for consideration as presenter in the Midwest’s premier venture capital summit. Submission price is $175; if your company is selected (by a panel of VCs reviewing all submissions):

  • You will be coached by a team of VCs and venture capital professionals on how to deliver the most impactful business plan to VCs
  • Your company will be listed on the www.MidwestVentureSummit.com from March 17, 2008 until the next MVS in 2009
  • You will receive two tickets to the two day event; additional tickets can be purchased in advance at $175 or $225 the day of the event (regular price is $350)
  • You will also receive one ticket to the Invitation Only Reception (evening of March 17th), one additional ticket for the reception may be purchased for $350

If your company is not selected as a presenting company, you will be eligible to purchase an event ticket for $175, a 50% discount over a regularly priced ticket.
